Our mother, Charlotte Faye (Jantz) Koehn, was born on September 1, 1943, at her home in Livingston, California, to Reuben and Barbara (Lea) Jantz. She peacefully slipped away on the morning of November 13, 2024, in Stover, Missouri, at the age of 81.
Charlotte grew up in Livingston, where she attended school and graduated from the 12th grade. Her heritage traces back to a close-knit family, and she deeply valued her relationships with her siblings. She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite by Minister Jesse Koehn on March 15, 1970, in Livingston, California, marking her commitment to her faith, which she carried to the end, declaring her peace before she passed.
On March 16, 1963, Charlotte married Leonard Koehn in Livingston, California. Together, they shared a life filled with love and family, residing in various places, from the valleys of Livingston, California, where their story began, to the open spaces of Scott, Kansas. They returned to the familiar embrace of Livingston, California, before venturing to Dalhart, Texas. Then, they moved back to Livingston, California, once more before settling in at Lakin, Kansas, and finally finding their last home in the peaceful town of Stover, Missouri. Each move marked a chapter of their shared life, a testament to their resilience and the bonds that held them close through every transition. Leonard, born on February 15, 1942, was her husband for 61 years. Charlotte was a devoted mother to her five children: Kimberly Koehn, who died in infancy; Loren Koehn, Natalie Koehn, Kyra Koehn, and Justin Koehn; she was generous with her time and showed affection through gifts. Mom loved singing; it was something that resonated throughout her life. She gave her time supporting her family in their endeavors, nurturing their dreams with unwavering support and love.
Left to cherish memories are her husband Leonard and four children: Loren and wife Donna of Versailles, MO. Natalie and husband Will Koehn of Stover, MO; Kyra and husband Terrence Koehn of Ronan, MT; Justin and wife Mindy of Sedalia, MO; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One Sister, Kathryn and Lavern Schmidt, Montezuma, KS, and two brothers, Jerry Jantz and his wife Judy of Laurie, Missouri, and Paul Jantz and wife Becky of Ulysses, Kansas. Two sisters-in-law, Sheila of Caldwell, ID, and Kathy of Atwater, CA.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, one infant daughter, Kimberly, two brothers, Donald and Victor Jantz, One Brother-in-law, Don Buller, and Three Sisters-in-Law, Jana, Sharon, and Karen.
Funeral Services will be held at Oak Ridge Congregation in Stover, Missouri. Minister Will Koehn will officiate. The burial will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
